Each year, 300 to 400 shipments of radioactive wastes travel through Oregon. Other radioactive shipments moving daily on state highways include radio-pharmaceuticals and industrial well-logging equipment. Accidents can happen. Radioactive materials have been involved in minor accidents in Oregon in the past. Special care is needed to respond to an accident involving radioactive materials. Training is open to everyone with priority given to fire department personnel.

Learn About:
- Emergency response to a radiological incident
- Radiation monitoring equipment (hands-on with the equipment is a major part of the training)
- Different types of radioactive materials
- Transport routes
- Biological hazards posed by radioactive materials

Equipment: Bring your team's radiation detection kit (if available)

Registration Deadline: March 30, 2012
