Reminder: OSFM - Basic Fire Investigation 200

Prerequisite: Basic Fire Investigator 100 - This course is available online on iLearn.

The practical portion (Skill Evaluation check list) of the BFI 100 class may be filled out by the instructor at the BFI 200 class. A BFI 200 certificate will not be issued and you will not receive DPSST credit unless you have the BFI 100 level. Bring proof to class.

Cost: $50 fee to cover course materials (student notes and handouts), morning and afternoon snacks. Lunch is on your own.

Send checks to: Rural/Metro Fire 807 NE 6th St., Grants Pass, OR 97526. Put attention to: Mike Shaw on the envelope. Please pay by Jan. 30, 2012. As a last resort, bring checks to class.

IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS.

Description: The BFI 200 level is a 2 day (16 hour) course.  The first day is classroom and the second day is practical skills (BRING PPE).  Basic Fire Investigation 200 provides basic fire investigation training for firefighters and fire officers, often combined with a live fire burn and practical fire investigation techniques. This is a DPSST certified course for fire prevention portions of the NFPA Fire Investigation Task Book. This course covers some FFI, FFII, and Fire Officer knowledge and skills JPR's in the DPSST task books.

Module 4: Fire Patterns
Module 5: Documentation
Module 6: Determining Cause .
Module 7: Fatalities
